Build a routine that fits your setup.
Home tuning starts with knowing the tools and the steps. Work on a secure, stable surface, and follow the wax maker when this guide is more general than the package.
01 What you need
Plan on a waxing iron, wax, a compatible acrylic scraper, brushes, a stable work surface, and a way to support the skis. Keep the iron on the setting the wax maker prints, and keep the room ventilated.
02 Prepare your skis
Work on a secure surface. Clear old dirt from the base with the method your ski maker recommends. Dry the bases before wax goes on. Do not treat a damaged edge or a core shot as a waxing chore.
03 Apply wax
Iron on a thin, even coat and let it cool for as long as the wax maker asks. Raze is not part of this step. It does not heat or spread wax.
04 Scrape excess wax
When the wax is ready to clear, use a sharp acrylic scraper to take the excess off the base. The Raze holder is a grip for that scraper: one angled body, two screws, a replaceable blade. Keep the scraper flat enough to clear wax without digging the base.
05 Brush and finish
Brush in the direction and with the tool your setup calls for. The finishing brush on this site is a partner placeholder, not a brush Cadly sells.
06 Common questions
If the base looks chalky, the usual cause is too much time since the last wax or a coat that was scraped and brushed too hard. Recheck the wax instructions before you iron again. If you are unsure the scraper fits the holder, wait for the published fit, rather than forcing a blade.
